In 1987, Dr. Moran completed his PhD in Biochemistry at the NCIC’s Cancer Research Laboratory at the University of Western Ontario. He was a postdoctoral and NCIC Fellow at Mount Sinai from 1986-1990. Dr. Moran joined the University of Toronto in 1990 in the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research and the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics, and was awarded tenure in 1995. He was a NCIC Scientist from 1991-1997, and a MRC Scientist 1997-2002. Dr. Moran has served on various granting agency study sections as well as consulted and collaborated extensively with various pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Dr. Moran helped found Ocata Proteomics Inc. (later MDS Proteomics Inc.), holding the positions of Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Vice President.
Dr. Moran’s research focus, publications, and invited seminars have addressed mechanisms of signal transduction related to cancer, and the development and application of functional proteomics approaches related to drug and biomarker discovery. Dr. Moran holds the Canada Research Chair in Molecular Therapeutics. |
